This calculator will calculate the minimum required sized anchor required for a boat of a select length. This calculator is based solely on the length of your boat. There can be other factors involved in selecting the best sized anchor. However, length works as a good reference point. These calculations assume an average boat anchoring in average conditions. If either of these are not average, i.e. unusually high displacement or frequently anchoring in gale forced winds, select the next sized anchor up.
